The house was built and decorated by us, exactly as we imagined a mountain place for modern living should feel: warm, authentic, comfortable, and functional at the same time. A place that combines the authenticity of a countryside home with the needs and comfort of today’s lifestyle.
Modern rustic
Although we did not start from a specific interior design style, what resulted is closest to modern rustic: natural materials and authentic textures, clean and airy spaces, and rustic elements integrated in a simple, contemporary way. Modern comfort without losing the warmth of an authentic home.
The spaces of the house
The house has a ground floor - open-space living room and kitchen, service bathroom, and the hosts’ room - and an upper floor where the four guest rooms are located: 3 double rooms and one triple room, each with its own en-suite bathroom.
The yard and orchard
Via Aurum is located at the end of a Transylvanian village and has a small courtyard in front, while behind the house there is an orchard going up the hill. In the front courtyard, we have a dining area where we like to grill and make the most of good weather. Behind the house there is a sun terrace, with sun loungers and an outdoor table for evenings spent watching the sunset.
